Griffin's Stellar Career Spans 13 Seasons

Blake Austin Griffin, born March 16, 1989, has officially retired from the NBA after a 13-year career. The former No. 1 overall pick announced his decision on Tuesday via social media, reflecting on his journey in the league.

Griffin played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners before being selected first overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA Draft. During his prime, he established himself as one of the league's top power forwards, averaging a double-double in points and rebounds twice.

Griffin's impressive career included six All-Star selections, five All-NBA Team selections, and an NBA Slam Dunk Contest title in 2011. He spent most of his career with the Clippers, becoming a fan favorite for his high-flying dunks and energetic play.
